High-power optical R&D engineer (M/F)

The position

Within the R&D (research and development) department, under the responsibility of the CTO (Chief Technical Officer), you will oversee high power optical development projects (>1kW continuous).

 

Your main duties will be:
  • Participating in the drafting of new product specifications with the department experts (mechanical, electronic, computing‚Ķ)
  • Conducting studies on optical design and prototyping for different high power projects
  • Leading trials and experiments on performance validation
  • Providing and updating technical documentation (plans, specifications, procedures, files, design folders) during industrialization and developmental phases
  • Delivering progress reports

 

Profile

Required skills:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 3 years minimum in the field of high power optics (>1kW continuous)
  • Skills in design, assembly, and alignment of high power opto-mechanical systems
  • Motivated in experimental realization
  • Fluent English

 

Preferred skills:
  • Command of thermal design of a complex system
  • Command of simulation tools (such as Zemax, COMSOL) and design tools (Solidworks) for industrial products
  • Programming skills (data analysis, modeling)
  • Command of different product development phases from the prototype to industrialization
  • Ease of writing
  • Project and team management
