Optical R&D Engineer (M/F)

The position

Working within the technical department, you will be responsible for contributing, either alone or as part of a team, to multiple optical research and development projects and for improving existing products. Your main tasks will include:

  • Participating in optical design studies of prototypes for different projects
  • Performing tests and performance validation measurements
  • Improving the performance and production processes of existing products
  • Providing and updating the technical documentation (blueprints, specifications, procedures and design files) during the development and industrialization phases



Key points:
  • Master’s degree in physics or equivalent
  • Skills in design, assembly, alignment and measurement of free-space optical systems
  • Programming skills (modeling, interfacing or data analysis)
  • Professional working proficiency in oral and written English


Desirable skills:
  • PhD in an optics-related field or 3 years of experience
  • Experience with optical fiber components
  • Experienced with digital optical modeling tools
  • Experienced in hardware interfacing using Python
