Optical Turbulence R&D Engineer (M/F)

The position

We are seeking an engineer to develop our passive air turbulence compensation technology within the context of developing new products focused on free-space communications, particularly between ground bases and satellites. Your main tasks will include:

  • Conducting theoretical studies on optical links in turbulent environments
  • Managing R&D and customer-oriented projects
  • Designing and specifying complex optical systems
  • Characterizing the experimental performance of customized systems



Key points:
  • Master’s degree in optics
  • Experience in optical characterization of atmospheric turbulence or adaptive optics
  • Experience in aligning optical systems
  • Critical and inventive thinking
  • Experience with numerical simulation (Matlab, Python, C …)
  • Autonomous and proactive


Desirable skills:
  • Experience in numerical simulation and beam propagation
  • Knowledgeable about Python
  • Knowledgeable about optical fibers
  • Mastery of optical alignment free space
