Le consortium se concentre sur les satellites en orbite g\u00e9ostationnaire (GEO) \u00e0 36&nbsp;000 km d\u2019altitude servant de relais de communication tr\u00e8s haut d\u00e9bit avec d\u2019autres satellites ou des utilisateurs au sol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019introduction des liaisons optiques sol-GEO permettra d\u2019augmenter les capacit\u00e9s des liens \u00ab feeder \u00bb des satellites HTS\/VHTS, de baisser leur co\u00fbt d\u2019acquisition et d\u2019exploitation et de s\u2019affranchir des contraintes r\u00e9glementaires inh\u00e9rentes aux liaisons radiofr\u00e9quences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cailabs se focalisera sur l\u2019augmentation en puissance du lien optique montant jusqu\u2019au kilo-watt pour garantir le tr\u00e8s haut d\u00e9bit (allant jusqu\u2019au terabit par seconde) n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 ces satellites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les besoins en d\u00e9bits pour les applications spatiales d\u2019observation de l\u2019espace et de t\u00e9l\u00e9communications ne cessent de cro\u00eetre. La Pr\u00e9sidente de la Commission Europ\u00e9enne Ursula von der Leyen dans son <em>discours sur l\u2019\u00e9tat de l\u2019Union<\/em> en 2020 et le Pr\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais Emmanuel Macron dans le plan <em>France 2030<\/em> ont r\u00e9affirm\u00e9 le besoin de disposer de constellations de satellites et d\u2019un internet satellitaire europ\u00e9en. Les r\u00e9seaux optiques s\u2019imposent ainsi comme la technologie d\u2019avenir pour garantir cette connectivit\u00e9 des communications spatiales en garantissant un d\u00e9bit quasi-illimit\u00e9 avec une propagation discr\u00e8te. Dans le cadre du projet CO-OP, Cailabs contribue \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de sources tr\u00e8s haute puissance, indispensable pour alimenter les satellites en donn\u00e9es. Deux briques technologiques de combinaison de faisceau, spatiale et spectrale, seront d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es par Cailabs au cours des trois ann\u00e9es du projet pour permettre au consortium de proposer une station tr\u00e8s haut d\u00e9bit d\u00e8s 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab A l\u2019\u00e9chelle d\u2019une jeune PME comme Cailabs, le projet s\u2019inscrit sur du long terme.
