Malgr\u00e9 cela, elle doit faire face \u00e0 certains d\u00e9fis, tels que la saturation des canaux de communication radiofr\u00e9quence, ce qui limite l\u2019exploitation des donn\u00e9es collect\u00e9es. Cependant, les communications optiques sont en train de s\u2019imposer comme solution de communication fiable et sans limites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019observation de la Terre consiste \u00e0 collecter des donn\u00e9es et des images \u00e0 partir de satellites en orbite autour de la Terre, en monitorant la surface et l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re terrestre. La t\u00e9l\u00e9d\u00e9tection peut \u00eatre effectu\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re passive, en utilisant des technologies telles que l\u2019imagerie, l\u2019imagerie hyperspectrale ou thermique, ou active, en utilisant des technologies comme le RADAR ou la m\u00e9thode LiDAR. Ces technologies n\u00e9cessitent des instruments et des capteurs sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s pour capturer des donn\u00e9es dans diff\u00e9rentes longueurs d\u2019onde du spectre \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique, telles que la lumi\u00e8re visible, l\u2019infrarouge et le rayonnement micro-ondes. Les donn\u00e9es collect\u00e9es sont ensuite envoy\u00e9es vers une station sol, o\u00f9 elles sont trait\u00e9es et analys\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019outils de calcul et de mod\u00e9lisation avanc\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les informations trait\u00e9es permettent la prise de d\u00e9cision sur un large \u00e9ventail de sujets environnementaux et soci\u00e9taux. Cette pratique est devenue un outil essentiel pour les scientifiques, les d\u00e9cideurs politiques et le secteur priv\u00e9, si bien qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de satellites sont en orbite, exploit\u00e9s par diverses agences gouvernementales, corps d\u2019arm\u00e9e, entreprises priv\u00e9es et acteurs du New Space. Selon PwC, le march\u00e9 mondial de l\u2019observation terrestre \u00e9tait estim\u00e9 \u00e0 7 milliards d\u2019euros en 2015 avec 15 % de taux de croissance annuel moyen des services li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019observation de la Terre entre 2014 et 2019<sup>(1)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/application\/observation-de-la-terre-par-satellite\/#_ftnref1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le panorama des applications d\u2019observation de la Terre comprend :&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Le monitoring environnemental&nbsp;<\/strong>: l\u2019OT permet de surveiller l\u2019\u00e9tat de notre environnement et ses \u00e9volutions climatiques ainsi que les conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques ce qui permet de fournir des pr\u00e9visions m\u00e9t\u00e9o, mais \u00e9galement d\u2019anticiper les catastrophes naturelles et donner l\u2019alerte. En cas de sinistre, la surveillance en temps r\u00e9el d\u2019une zone permet une gestion plus efficace des op\u00e9rations de recherche et de sauvetage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Les activit\u00e9s humaines<\/strong>&nbsp;: L\u2019OT est \u00e9galement utilis\u00e9 pour soutenir une gamme d\u2019activit\u00e9s humaines telles que la gestion de l\u2019agriculture, la gestion de l\u2019eau et de l\u2019utilisation des terres. Elle permet \u00e9galement aux autorit\u00e9s d\u2019effectuer le contr\u00f4le de la qualit\u00e9 de d\u2019air et de l\u2019eau, ainsi que de maintenir la surveillance maritime et lutter contre la d\u00e9forestation et les feux de for\u00eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La d\u00e9fense et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nationale<\/strong>&nbsp;: les donn\u00e9es d\u2019OT sont devenues un outil critique pour la d\u00e9fense la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nationale. Un satellite d\u2019observation militaire peut fournir des informations pour une multitude d\u2019applications telles que la collecte de renseignements, surveillance, reconnaissance, et la protection des infrastructures. Avec des mises \u00e0 jour en temps r\u00e9el sur les activit\u00e9s dans les zones urbaines, les donn\u00e9es OT aident \u00e0 identifier les menaces de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 potentielles et permettent des r\u00e9ponses proactives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alors que le nombre de satellites actifs en orbite continue d\u2019augmenter, atteignant pr\u00e8s de 5.500 en 2022 selon l\u2019UCS Satellite Database<sup>(2)<\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/application\/observation-de-la-terre-par-satellite\/#_ftn1\"><\/a>&nbsp;avec environ 1400 satellites d\u2019observation terrestre en orbite autour de la terre&nbsp;selon l\u2019Agence Spatiale Europ\u00e9enne&nbsp;(ESA)<sup>(3)<\/sup>&nbsp;le besoin de liens bidirectionnels entre les satellites et le sol augmente proportionnellement. La fiabilit\u00e9 et le d\u00e9bit des communications deviennent donc des aspects essentiels, en particulier pour l\u2019observation de la Terre, qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re une grande quantit\u00e9 de donn\u00e9es et d\u2019images \u00e0 transmettre au sol via des liaisons&nbsp;<em>direct-to-earth<\/em>. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs la limite principale de l\u2019OT&nbsp;: la majorit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es restent coinc\u00e9es dans l\u2019espace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les radiofr\u00e9quences (RF), standard actuel pour les communications espace-sol, atteignent leurs limites en termes de capacit\u00e9, ce qui ne permet plus de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins croissants des missions spatiales. Parmi les principales limites, on peut citer la congestion des canaux de communication RF dont l\u2019utilisation n\u00e9cessite l\u2019obtention d\u2019une licence afin d\u2019\u00e9viter les interf\u00e9rences entre canaux. Une licence engendre des d\u00e9penses et des d\u00e9lais d\u2019attente importants. Les bandes C, KA et Ku sont les canaux RF les plus utilis\u00e9s, tandis que les bandes X et L sont principalement attribu\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019arm\u00e9e et \u00e0 la recherche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les communications laser en espace libre s\u2019imposent comme une solution de communications fiable et capable de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins croissants de r\u00e9seaux haut d\u00e9bit, s\u00e9curis\u00e9s et robustes. Les lasercom peuvent assurer des liens sol-sol, espace-sol, ou bien espace-espace. La technologie s\u2019appuie sur la propagation de la lumi\u00e8re dans le vide et dans l\u2019air pour \u00e9changer des informations. Plus rapides, plus s\u00fbres, plus compactes et plus faciles \u00e0 d\u00e9ployer que les technologies actuelles, elles ne n\u00e9cessitent pas de bande de fr\u00e9quence allou\u00e9e. A titre d\u2019exemple, un lien RF met 9 ans \u00e0 t\u00e9l\u00e9charger une image tr\u00e8s haute r\u00e9solution de Mars lorsque ce m\u00eame t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement ne prend que 9 semaines avec des communications laser. De plus, les communications laser ont l\u2019avantage d\u2019\u00eatre compatibles avec les technologies t\u00e9l\u00e9coms terrestres ultra haute capacit\u00e9 (jusqu\u2019\u00e0 plusieurs Tbit\/s), b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant ainsi de la maturit\u00e9 technologique de l\u2019industrie t\u00e9l\u00e9coms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sur Terre, ces communications lasers sont limit\u00e9es par les turbulences atmosph\u00e9riques. Les perturbations, caus\u00e9es par l\u2019h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 et les mouvements permanents de l\u2019air, affectent la phase et l\u2019intensit\u00e9 du faisceau lumineux, d\u00e9gradant la qualit\u00e9 du lien lorsqu\u2019il entre dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re terrestre. Cependant, des solutions de compensation de la turbulence atmosph\u00e9rique existent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">S\u2019appuyant sur sa technologie Multi-Plane Light Conversion
