Les services et applications existants fournis par leur r\u00e9seau local restent inchang\u00e9s, sans modification majeure du c\u0153ur de r\u00e9seau ni des appareils des utilisateurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qu\u2019est-ce que le POL&nbsp;?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Le POL (<em>Passive Optical LAN<\/em>) ou POLAN (<em>Passive Optical Local Area Network<\/em>) est une nouvelle fa\u00e7on de structurer les r\u00e9seaux de t\u00e9l\u00e9communications, rempla\u00e7ant les infrastructures en cuivre employ\u00e9es dans les LAN Ethernet traditionnels, et qui ne sont plus efficaces pour les applications haut d\u00e9bit. Les commutateurs actifs (switchs) de sous-distribution et d\u2019agr\u00e9gation du r\u00e9seau sont alors remplac\u00e9s par des coupleurs optiques, qui distribuent de mani\u00e8re passive les donn\u00e9es circulant du c\u0153ur de r\u00e9seau jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019utilisateur. L&rsquo;expansion des services des entreprises de t\u00e9l\u00e9communications pour la voix, les donn\u00e9es, la vid\u00e9o et le sans-fil pour plusieurs applications qui n\u00e9cessitent une bande passante plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e, alimente la demande de LAN optique passif. D\u2019autres facteurs, tels que l&rsquo;adoption de l&rsquo;Internet des objets et la popularit\u00e9 croissante des services bas\u00e9s sur le cloud alimentent \u00e9galement la croissance du march\u00e9 POL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;Asie-Pacifique devrait continuer \u00e0 d\u00e9tenir une part importante du march\u00e9 POL dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. Des projets de d\u00e9ploiement en Europe et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord voient le jour de plus en plus r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si, \u00e0 ce jour, il y encore peu de r\u00e9alisations en Europe dans le domaine tertiaire, la fiabilit\u00e9 de la technologie est valid\u00e9e par les installations massives de GPON d\u00e9ploy\u00e9es par les op\u00e9rateurs au cours de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pas besoin de changer de fibre optique&nbsp;!&nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Le POL fonctionne exclusivement sur fibre optique monomode. Les \u00e9quipements actifs et les coupleurs optiques ne sont pas compatibles avec les fibres multimodes de premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Aussi, le d\u00e9ploiement du POLAN n\u00e9cessite le remplacement des c\u00e2bles de cuivre, op\u00e9ration qui peut s\u2019av\u00e9rer longue et co\u00fbteuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, si le r\u00e9seau est d\u00e9j\u00e0 constitu\u00e9 de fibres multimodes, celles-ci peuvent \u00eatre converties en fibre monomode, compatible avec toute architecture POL. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa technologie de remise en forme de la lumi\u00e8re,&nbsp;<strong>la solution AROONA permet le d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019un r\u00e9seau POL en r\u00e9utilisant les fibres multimodes (OM1, OM2, \u2026) &nbsp;d\u00e9j\u00e0 install\u00e9es.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour cela il suffit d\u2019installer un boitier (rack ou module compact selon le nombre de fibres \u00e0 upgrader) sur chaque lien MMF existant, en r\u00e9alisant une simple soudure. &nbsp;AROONA peut convertir le lien backbone (OLT-coupleur), le lien horizontal (Coupleur ONT) ou bien les deux, selon la position de la fibre MMF existante. Ces atouts permettent de r\u00e9duire significativement les co\u00fbts d\u2019investissement (CAPEX) tout comme les co\u00fbts d\u2019exploitation (OPEX).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Par ailleurs, la fibre optique garantit la p\u00e9rennit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau, en permettant d\u2019adresser les besoins futurs en bande passante.
