Cette technique d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e \u00e0 la fin du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle apporte de nombreux avantages. Quelles sont ses applications aujourd\u2019hui ? Quels challenges cette technologie doit-elle encore relever, et gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 quels outils ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nb : cet article est le deuxi\u00e8me d\u2019une s\u00e9rie consacr\u00e9e aux&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/application\/soudage-laser\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de soudage laser<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le soudage laser, comment \u00e7a marche ?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans la deuxi\u00e8me moiti\u00e9 du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, l\u2019utilisation du laser pour des applications de soudage a fait son apparition, ce qui constitue une r\u00e9volution du point de vue technique. L\u2019\u00e9nergie permettant la fusion des pi\u00e8ces \u00e0 assembler est ici transport\u00e9e au sein du faisceau laser, qui est focalis\u00e9 au niveau de la zone \u00e0 souder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette focalisation permet d\u2019atteindre de tr\u00e8s hauts niveaux de densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019une grande quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie est concentr\u00e9e sur une petite surface. Cette technique, enti\u00e8rement automatis\u00e9e, comporte de nombreux avantages : une qualit\u00e9 et une pr\u00e9cision accrues, une performance et une vitesse d\u2019ex\u00e9cution augment\u00e9es, ainsi qu\u2019une bonne flexibilit\u00e9. La pi\u00e8ce ne re\u00e7oit de la chaleur que par le biais de la conduction thermique, donc la profondeur de soudure est faible (de l\u2019ordre du millim\u00e8tre au maximum), et est inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la largeur de soudure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Soudage profond<\/strong>&nbsp;: ici l\u2019\u00e9nergie apport\u00e9e permet de porter \u00e0 \u00e9bullition le bain de fusion : le m\u00e9tal commence donc \u00e0 se vaporiser. Lorsque la vapeur se cr\u00e9e, elle g\u00e9n\u00e8re un capillaire gazeux (appel\u00e9 \u00ab keyhole \u00bb en anglais), c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire une sorte de \u00ab bulle \u00bb, qui pousse le m\u00e9tal en fusion de part et d\u2019autre. Ce keyhole se d\u00e9place le long de la soudure en m\u00eame temps que le faisceau, et a pour effet d\u2019amplifier la transmission de l\u2019\u00e9nergie du laser par effet de r\u00e9flexion sur ses parois. Ainsi, ce r\u00e9gime permet d\u2019atteindre des profondeurs de soudure bien plus importantes que le premier.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces proc\u00e9d\u00e9s mettant en jeu de grandes quantit\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9nergie et de hautes temp\u00e9ratures localis\u00e9es, des d\u00e9fauts peuvent apparaitre. Certains se voient \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle macroscopique, d\u2019autres sont de plus petites dimensions (de l\u2019ordre du micron). En particulier, cette technique est appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e dans l\u2019industrie automobile, o\u00f9 les grands volumes et les hauts standards de qualit\u00e9 sont justement des priorit\u00e9s de fabrication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ce secteur, le laser est utilis\u00e9 pour assembler des parties du ch\u00e2ssis, des cadres de portes, des capots ou coffres, mais \u00e9galement des sous-parties plus complexes comme des d\u00e9clencheurs d\u2019airbag.<sup>(4)<\/sup>&nbsp;En tout, la longueur de soudure r\u00e9alis\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 peut atteindre 50 m\u00e8tres sur une seule voiture ! L\u2019utilisation des sources laser dans cette industrie est encore amen\u00e9e \u00e0 augmenter, avec l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat grandissant port\u00e9 dans l\u2019e-mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Par exemple, cette technique se d\u00e9veloppe pour le soudage du cuivre, notamment appliqu\u00e9 pour les batteries de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques. On y trouve certains proc\u00e9d\u00e9s hybrides, comme le soudage laser &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.cailabs.com\/soudage-de-larc-au-faisceau-evolution-et-revolution\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MIG\/MAG<\/a>, o\u00f9 la soudure est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l\u2019action combin\u00e9e d\u2019un faisceau laser et d\u2019un arc avec m\u00e9tal d\u2019apport. Cette m\u00e9thode permet d\u2019obtenir une grande p\u00e9n\u00e9tration et une vitesse \u00e9lev\u00e9e sur de grandes longueurs de soudage.<sup>(6)<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La mise en forme de la lumi\u00e8re pour am\u00e9liorer le soudage laser<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Cependant, certains challenges sont encore \u00e0 relever pour ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9. Par exemple, pour le soudage du cuivre, deux m\u00e9thodes sont possibles et viennent chacune avec leurs d\u00e9fis respectifs. L\u2019absorption de la lumi\u00e8re de ce mat\u00e9riau est sensible \u00e0 la longueur d\u2019onde, et varie en fonction son \u00e9tat : \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat solide, elle est \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans les longueurs d\u2019onde du vert et du bleu, et faible dans l\u2019infrarouge, mais elle augmente et devient peu sensible \u00e0 la longueur d\u2019onde \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat liquide\/gazeux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ainsi, la premi\u00e8re possibilit\u00e9 est l\u2019utilisation de lasers bleus ou verts (Nuburu est notamment sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans le soudage du cuivre avec des lasers bleus :&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.industrial-lasers.com\/welding\/article\/14200736\/nuburu-awarded-core-patent-for-blue-light-copper-welding\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nuburu awarded core patent for blue light copper welding | Industrial Laser Solutions<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La deuxi\u00e8me solution consiste en l\u2019utilisation de lasers infrarouges haute puissance, dont la technologie est par ailleurs plus mature. Cailabs, et sa technologie brevet\u00e9e de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/technologie\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Conversion Multi-Plan de la Lumi\u00e8re (MPLC)<\/a>, propose d\u2019optimiser la forme du faisceau laser pour augmenter les performances de soudage, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/produit\/canunda-hp\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CANUNDA-HP<\/a>. CANUNDA-HP a d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une tenue \u00e0 16 kW, et devrait permettre une utilisation jusqu\u2019\u00e0 30 kW !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela permet justement de g\u00e9rer les hautes puissances requises pour le soudage du cuivre en infrarouge, ou encore pour les fortes \u00e9paisseurs demand\u00e9es en construction navale. De plus, CANUNDA-HP permet de r\u00e9aliser tous types de mise en forme : un anneau gr\u00e2ce au produit standard CANUNDA-HP Ring Shaper, ou encore un spot plus intense entour\u00e9 d\u2019un anneau sur demande, id\u00e9al pour le soudage du cuivre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme \u00e9voqu\u00e9 plus t\u00f4t, le soudage laser peut g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des instabilit\u00e9s amenant \u00e0 la d\u00e9gradation de la qualit\u00e9 du cordon de soudure : porosit\u00e9, cordon irr\u00e9gulier, projections, etc. Cailabs est \u00e9galement impliqu\u00e9e dans la r\u00e9solution de ce probl\u00e8me gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la mise en forme de faisceau, \u00e0 travers diff\u00e9rents partenariats :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cailabs fait partie du projet europ\u00e9en&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/shapeyourlaser.eu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Custodian<\/a>, consortium de 10 entit\u00e9s acad\u00e9miques et industrielles engag\u00e9es dans le d\u00e9veloppement des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s d\u2019usinage laser haute puissance.
