Il est donc imp\u00e9ratif que tous les faisceaux d\u2019entr\u00e9es soient colin\u00e9aires&nbsp;et confondus&nbsp;en sortie\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour combiner plusieurs&nbsp;sources&nbsp;de mani\u00e8re optimale, Cailabs propose&nbsp;une approche&nbsp;modale consistant \u00e0&nbsp;d\u00e9composer&nbsp;n\u2019importe quelle forme de&nbsp;lumi\u00e8re sur&nbsp;une base&nbsp;de modes spatiaux&nbsp;arbitraires.&nbsp;Il existe plusieurs bases classiques, comme les modes de Hermite-Gauss ou de Laguerre-Gauss qui sont commun\u00e9ment utilis\u00e9s en optique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La lumi\u00e8re est une onde \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique qui lorsqu\u2019elle se propage dans un milieu homog\u00e8ne est soumise aux \u00e9quations de Maxwell. Toute onde se propageant dans un milieu isotrope&nbsp;(milieu&nbsp;ayant les&nbsp;m\u00eames caract\u00e9ristiques physiques dans toutes les directions)&nbsp;doit v\u00e9rifier&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Propagation_des_ondes\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">l\u2019\u00e9quation de propagation<\/a>.&nbsp;Les modes spatiaux repr\u00e9sentent les solutions de l\u2019\u00e9quation de propagation&nbsp;de la lumi\u00e8re.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ces modes&nbsp;gardent donc le m\u00eame profil pendant la propagation.&nbsp;Ils&nbsp;peuvent se dilater ou fluctuer en pr\u00e9sence de turbulences atmosph\u00e9riques, mais dans l&rsquo;ensemble, les modes sont pr\u00e9serv\u00e9s. Les modes spatiaux comme les modes Hermite-Gaussien ou Laguerre-Gaussien forment une base spatiale. Ils peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re pratique pour d\u00e9crire tout profil spatial d&rsquo;un faisceau lumineux.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group caract\u00e9ristiques d\u2019un&nbsp;combineur optimal&nbsp;puisque l\u2019on peut montrer que celle-ci est&nbsp;la superposition des modes de Laguerre-Gauss qui poss\u00e8dent le plus faible M\u00b2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019expression du M<sup>2<\/sup><sub>multimode<\/sub>&nbsp;donne le tableau suivant\u202f:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group entr\u00e9e dans un mode LG donn\u00e9 et en combinant&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>(sommant) chaque&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>entr\u00e9e convertie<\/strong><strong>,
