Pour le multiplexage optique et le monde des t\u00e9l\u00e9coms, ce support est la fibre optique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une technique de multiplexage c\u00e9l\u00e8bre et tr\u00e8s utilis\u00e9e aujourd\u2019hui est le multiplexage en longueur d\u2019onde qui consiste en la cr\u00e9ation de canaux d\u2019informations par le biais de \u00ab couleurs \u00bb (longueurs d\u2019ondes) diff\u00e9rentes. Chaque longueur d\u2019onde correspond alors \u00e0 une voie d\u2019information parall\u00e8le et ind\u00e9pendante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1-1.webp 1x, https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1-1@2x.webp 2x\" type=\"image\/webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1-1.gif\" alt=\"1 1\" class=\"wp-image-8723\"\/><\/picture><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Toutefois, il apparait n\u00e9cessaire de trouver d\u2019autres solutions pour augmenter le nombre de canaux d\u2019information et pour permettre d\u2019assouvir les besoins croissants en bande passante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En effet, il para\u00eet difficile aujourd\u2019hui d\u2019augmenter encore le nombre de canaux WDM car la limite de Shannon est quasiment atteinte dans les fibres monomodes, et d\u00e9multiplier le nombre de fibres dans un c\u00e2ble n\u2019est pas viable en terme op\u00e9rationnel (maintenance en particulier).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La perspective d\u2019un d\u00e9bit accru \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur d\u2019une fibre optique sans avoir \u00e0 en d\u00e9ployer de nouvelles est \u00e9galement un argument de poids pour le d\u00e9veloppement de certaines de ces techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La technique du multiplexage spatial de mode ou SDM (Space Division Multiplexing) en est une. En effet, pour cette cat\u00e9gorie, la technologie de fibre est mature (tr\u00e8s proche voire identique au tirage de fibres actuelles), et les d\u00e9veloppements technologiques se concentrent aujourd\u2019hui sur les composants d\u2019interface avec le r\u00e9seau fibr\u00e9 monomode.
