{"id":7217,"date":"2019-04-11T14:18:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-11T12:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/blog\/"},"modified":"2024-07-10T16:15:08","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T14:15:08","slug":"en-quoi-la-dispersion-modale-limite-t-elle-les-debits-transmis-sur-fibre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/fr\/blog\/reseaux-fibres\/en-quoi-la-dispersion-modale-limite-t-elle-les-debits-transmis-sur-fibre\/","title":{"rendered":"En quoi la dispersion modale limite-t-elle les d\u00e9bits transmis sur fibre ?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La fibre optique est un moyen de transport d\u2019information tr\u00e8s employ\u00e9 de par son faible encombrement, ses faibles pertes lin\u00e9iques, son insensibilit\u00e9 aux perturbations \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tiques, etc. Cependant, la fibre pr\u00e9sente des limitations de performances intrins\u00e8ques, inh\u00e9rentes \u00e0 ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En particulier, pour les fibres optiques multimodes install\u00e9es d\u00e8s les ann\u00e9es 1980-90, comme les fibres OM1 (62,5\/125 \u00b5m) et OM2 (50\/125 \u00b5m), la transmission \u00e0 haut d\u00e9bit se&nbsp;trouve limit\u00e9e \u00e0 cause de la dispersion modale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrons dans des explications un peu plus d\u00e9taill\u00e9es. Les modes d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s se couplent de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s forte au sein de leur groupe de modes. A l\u2019inverse, des modes issus de groupes de modes diff\u00e9rents sont plus isol\u00e9s et peuvent donc \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des canaux de transmission ind\u00e9pendants au sein de la m\u00eame fibre optique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typiquement une fibre multimode classique peut supporter des dizaines de modes, divis\u00e9s en quelques groupes de modes. Lorsque la lumi\u00e8re issue du transceiver entre dans la fibre multimode, elle se \u00ab s\u00e9pare \u00bb en diff\u00e9rents rayons appel\u00e9s \u00ab modes \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les rayons lumineux issus de la source entrent dans le c\u0153ur de la fibre avec des angles diff\u00e9rents par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019axe de la fibre optique. Les rayons qui entrent avec un angle plus faible vont voyager dans la fibre via un chemin plus direct par rapport aux rayons qui entrent avec un angle plus fort, qui eux vont se r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir de nombreuses fois de plus lors de la propagation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chaque mode va donc voyager le long d\u2019un chemin optique diff\u00e9rent au sein de la fibre optique. Il en r\u00e9sulte donc des temps d\u2019arriv\u00e9e en bout de fibre diff\u00e9rents selon les modes. Cette d\u00e9gradation est d\u2019autant plus importante que le d\u00e9bit transport\u00e9 est grand, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire que les impulsions lumineuses sont courtes et rapproch\u00e9es (typiquement 100 ps entre chaque impulsion \u00e0 10 Gb\/s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour r\u00e9sumer, la DMD d\u00e9grade la largeur de la bande passante modale de la fibre optique, ce qui provoque une diminution de la distance atteignable, \u00e0 un d\u00e9bit donn\u00e9, support\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re fiable entre \u00e9metteur et r\u00e9cepteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-41.webp 1x, https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-41@2x.webp 2x\" type=\"image\/webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"605\" height=\"449\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-41.webp\" alt=\"Image 41\" class=\"wp-image-8389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-41.webp 605w, https:\/\/www.cailabs.com\/app\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image-41-300x223.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/picture><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Impact de la dispersion modale sur la qualit\u00e9 de transmission selon le d\u00e9bit<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Le profil d\u2019indice de r\u00e9fraction de la fibre influence profond\u00e9ment les vitesses des diff\u00e9rents modes de propagation qui entra\u00eenent de la dispersion modale. C\u2019est pourquoi il existe diff\u00e9rentes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de fibres multimodes \u00e0 gradient d\u2019indice (OMx, x=1, 2, 3, 4 ou 5), diminuant ainsi les diff\u00e9rences de temps de groupes entre modes selon le type de fibre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remarque<\/strong>&nbsp;: Il est int\u00e9ressant de noter qu\u2019en parvenant \u00e0 conf\u00e9rer \u00e0 la fibre des dimensions transverses suffisamment petites pour que celle-ci ne permette la propagation que d\u2019un seul mode, des conditions optimales de dispersion sont alors obtenues pour minimiser l\u2019\u00e9talement&nbsp;dans le temps du signal lumineux au cours de la propagation. On parle alors de fibre monomode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces diff\u00e9rentes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de fibres multimodes pr\u00e9sentent donc des bandes passantes diff\u00e9rentes.
