Choose France

A new industrial site in Rennes to scale up optical ground station production.

Context: a summit dedicated to companies investing in France

Cailabs is honoured to have been selected to take part in the Choose France – Édition France Summit, held at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris, in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, and other members of the French government.

This summit highlights companies that are investing in France and contributing to the country’s industrial, energy and technological sovereignty.

Cailabs’ participation is fully aligned with the company’s long-standing commitment: designing and manufacturing strategic technologies in France, in particular for space-to-ground optical communications.

FACTORY 27: a new industrial site for optical ground stations

On this occasion, Cailabs announces the launch of FACTORY 27, its future industrial site dedicated to optical ground stations (OGS), located in Rennes, Brittany.

FACTORY 27 will significantly increase Cailabs’ production capacity to support the ramp-up of optical ground station deployments in France, Europe and worldwide.

These ground stations are a key enabler for high-capacity laser links between space and Earth, serving satellite constellations, secure connectivity services and new space applications.

Industrial and regional impact in Brittany

Beyond production capabilities, FACTORY 27 is a structuring project for the Brittany region:

By industrialising advanced photonic technologies in France, Cailabs contributes to technological sovereignty and reindustrialisation, particularly in the strategic fields of space, defence and optical communications.

Cailabs was represented at the Choose France – Édition France Summit by its CEO, Jean-François Morizur.

Alongside other industrial players, the company shares its vision of photonic innovation: rooted in local territories, focused on concrete industrial applications, and serving French and European competitiveness.
